Medical Massage is typically focused on a specific injury or pain-related issue. Evaluation techniques are used to gain a clearer understanding of muscle dysfunction which may be contributing to the issue(s). Massage techniques are then utilized to alleviate pain and return muscle function and increased range of motion.
Swedish Massage is a basic relaxing full body massage which may include a variety of massage strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve circulation. Swedish massages may also include a range of motion stretching. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, and greater flexibility.
Therapeutic Massage may include the use of one or more techniques such as muscle energy techniques, myofascial release, and trigger point to address client specific issues. This process can be painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative. Client feedback during the session is necessary. May or may not include a full body massage depending on the number of issues addressed and the time allotted. Appointments may be scheduled for 60, 90, or 75mins.
